SNL's Alex Buono to Present 'HDSLR Cinema 101' at NJVA-WEVA May 18
April 03, 2011
Sarasota, FL - The 3rd Annual NJVA-WEVA Institute Northeast Conference & Trade Show has announced the first of several exciting topics and speakers for the upcoming show on Wednesday, May 18 in Edison, NJ (near NYC).
"HDSLR Cinema 101" will be presented by Saturday Night Live DP Alex Buono, a 10-year veteran of SNL’s film unit. In the world of film and television, there is no event video deadline more unmovable than when you hear those magical words, "Live from New York, It's Saturday Night!"
Show after show, Alex Buono’s must-do film task is to deliver high-end commercial parodies and short films in as few as 24 hours, and he will share with you how shooting with the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D has revolutionized the way he works.
At NJVA-WEVA, Alex will use his SNL experience over the past decade to demonstrate what you need to know when it comes to shooting with your HDSLR. Topics Alex will cover include an extensive set-up primer: discussing shutter speeds, frame rates, aspect ratios, camera settings, and vital production gear. He will also reveal his efficient workflow method -- both on-set, and in post-production, covering "Advantages of Canon DSLR vs. Other Formats," "Transcoding Files Into Edit-Friendly Codecs," and "How to Create Time Lapse Sequences."
Whether you’re a veteran wedding videographer, event filmmaker, still photographer looking to transition into event video, or industry newcomer looking to embrace advanced technology, this special session by SNL’s Alex Buono will provide a comprehensive introduction to the exciting new world of HDSLR cinema.
The 3rd Annual NJVA-WEVA Institute Northeast Conference & Trade Show, scheduled from Noon-10pm, will feature several industry-leading speakers throughout the day, a hands-on Trade Show, and networking unlimited, plus special Door Prize Drawings for cool stuff. Seating is limited. Early-bird discount admission is still available. Register now and save – click here!
