Den Lennie is an award winning veteran of a 17-year career in television production with credits as Lighting Cameraman, DOP, Producer and Director. He’s worked with broadcasters, production companies and top film-makers worldwide, filming in nearly 50 countries.
The list of people Den has personally lit and filmed reads like a Who’s Who of celebrities from the world of cinema and music: Ewan McGregor, U2, Bon Jovi, Liam Neeson, Kylie Minogue, Mel Gibson, Noel Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Christina Aguilera, Tom Cruise, and Naomi Cambell are just a few of the names Den has captured on film or video. He’s worked at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, the MTV and Mobo awards ceremonies and at London Fashion Week.
Den began his relationship with WEVA when he and Philip Bloom presented 3 workshops on three consecutive days at WEVA EXPO 2009. In February 2010, Den was a featured presenter at WEVA iVideoShow, the first-ever Online Conference & Trade Show for wedding video professionals and event filmmakers worldwide. In the Spring of 2010, Sony invited Den to a camera design meeting in London. As the producer of 4 DSLR Training DVD's, Den was uniquely positioned to add insight into the world of DSLR shooting, and to illustrate the shortcomings especially for professional event work. During that meeting, Den added input into features he felt would give the event shooter the flexibility of a video camera but with the large sensor look of a DSLR. What ultimately emerged was the NEX-FS100U. "I can't take credit for the camera, I simply suggested features and offered suggestions that would be of use to video shooters. Some of the concepts have ended up in the FS100U and some not. But it is refreshing to have a major camera manufacturer ask customers and users for their input. I was honored to be a part of the evolution of this camera."
Den adds, "When we first got our hands on this camera we decided to shoot a music video, using largely available light and really put the camera through its paces." The new film "Vertigo," along with Den's own hands-on Video Blog, amassed over 50,000 views on Vimeo within 6 days of being released.
