WEVA/PMA Expo for Videographers in Canada Breaks New Ground

Sarasota, FL - The first-ever convention for wedding and event videographers in Canada was presented by WEVA International and PMA in conjunction with the third annual PMA Canada Expo, held in Toronto last month.
An extraordinary two-day conference of cutting-edge video sessions presented by WEVA Creative Excellence Award-winning wedding videographers broke new ground by expanding continuing education for videographers in Ontario and other regions of Canada.
"With the digital memories industry growing apace, new imaging technology is opening up brand new profit centers for videographers on a global level," said WEVA International founder and chairman Roy Chapman. "Last month’s convention in Canada was another industry breakthrough, a milestone for our members, and professional videography at-large that was made possible through the dedicated strategic initiative developed jointly by WEVA and PMA. At PMA-Canada 2007, the WEVA sessions, under the helm of WEVA's Director of Educational Development John Zale, incorporated cutting-edge concepts in wedding and event video creativity, production and marketing. The history-making team of WEVA featured speakers included Jenny Lehman, Natalie Neal, Mike Nelson, David Robin, Danny Sayson, Tim Sudall, and Javier Villarreal.
PMA reported a 30% increase in attendance for this year’s 3rd Annual Expo, held at the Toronto Congress Centre. Showcasing the world of imaging, the PMA Canada 2007 Expo presented new developments and state-of-the-art technology from the major digital imaging companies and industry suppliers from Canada and the United States.
"Following-up on the Asia-Pacific region conference in Australia last May, PMA-Canada 2007 was equally outstanding in all areas," Zale said. "The entire convention, including all of the individual sessions, the networking events, trade show and Gala dinner, was well-organized by the dedicated PMA staff and ran smoothly. Attendees told us they learned so much they are already making plans to go to WEVA's Wide World of Weddings & Events - the brand new convention and trade show being presented by WEVA/PMA for wedding and event videographers this January at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It's a whole new concept in education for our industry that will allow videographers to, as Natalie Neal says, 'double-dip' in both video imaging and still imaging technologies and come up a winner! It's a new, double-bonus for videographers and it all starts January 29th in conjunction with PMA 08."
