Sarasota, FL - “With Wedding & Event Video Expo 2006 heading to Mandalay Bay, one of the USA’s top convention/vacation destinations, home to House of Blues, the entertainment will be unbeatable, so will all of this year's programs and networking for wedding and event videographers," said John Zale, WEVA's Director of Educational Development. "WEVA EXPO 2006 will feature a stellar slate of over 70 wedding & event video seminars, Camera Clinics, workshops, system training, live demonstrations of new technology, workflow managment, power marketing, portable video concepts, best Internet strategies, networking activities, and an awesome Trade Show...not to mention the more than 12,000 jobs coming to EXPO through project StreamLocal. It means this year’s groundbreaking EXPO is set to be the most skill-building, most inspiring, and most successful for videographers to date!”

Many videographers coming to WEVA EXPO are anxious to get started even before the doors officially open at 5:45 pm Monday, August 21st. At 10:30 am WEVA will be hold a special 90-minute orientation for first-time EXPO attendees.

On Monday afternoon, in addition to WEVA's optional pre-convention workshops, Adobe Systems will be providing FREE instruction for videographers on its new and powerful Production Studio editing software from 1pm-5:30pm. This special extended training session is free to registered EXPO attendees who sign-up in advance. WEVA EXPO 2006 online registration will open shortly on the WEVA website.

Another sneak peek at the 2006 convention programming reveals that this year videographers will be invited to bring popular camcorders to WEVA EXPO to participate in special tech sessions called “Camera Clinics." The sessions, which will repeat during the EXPO, will provide hands-on training in specific camera operations, including how to customize your settings for optimum results.

WEVA EXPO 2006, Zale added, “will draw on current and evolving technologies, including HD/HDV, and new media technologies like portable video, to enable wedding and event videographers to reach a whole new level of creativity, skill-sets, and profitability. Attendees will discover how to use cutting-edge technology and techniques to get the upper-hand not just in workflow, but in other key areas, including marketing and sales, Internet video, and in the increasing opportunities emerging for weekday work.” EXPO 2006 registration will open soon on the WEVA website.

“We're all suddenly working in the new world of 'broadband for everyone' and it's affecting members of our industry in new and different ways. We're confronted with amazing new opportunities but significant challenges too, including increased competition, how to keep up with new technology, and how to run a business that can be profitable and still allow you take a vacation. WEVA EXPO 2006 programming will present solutions that videographers can implement immediately."

Official Opening on Monday August 21
