WEVA Launches Hurricane Relief Effort
August 31, 2005
Sarasota, FL - The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) is launching an immediate effort to assist in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
"Our association, representing professional videographers nationwide, is mobilizing immediately to provide as much assistance as possible to those who have been devastated as result of this horrific tragedy," said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman.
"We are contacting all of our members and local videographers associations nationwide to ask for their support and input as to how we can assist in relief efforts," said Chapman. "We are also issuing a call to all videographers in the affected areas to help WEVA identify videographers who are in need of immediate help or special assistance."
In addition to providing financial relief and physical support, WEVA members can also aid individuals and organizations by using their unique skills and resources in many ways to try and help ease the burden, Chapman said.
WEVA opened a public discussion forum today on the WEVA Forums for all videographers to discuss Disaster Relief efforts and offers of special assistance, including housing assistance, and job opportunities for those in need.
Videographers, both members and non-members, who can offer their assistance to help in the recovery effort are asked to contact the WEVA International office at 941-923-5334 or by email to [email protected].
