WEVA Launches New Local Association Ambassador Program at JVA
February 15, 2007
- The WEVA Local Association Ambassador Program, a brand new series of regional presentations directed by Natalie Neal of Glass Slipper Productions (PA) and John Zale WEVA International’s Director of Educational Development, in conjunction with local videographers associations, held its kick-off event last week in Florida.
Neal, who is also president of the GPVA, producer of WEVA-TV’s Nat Chat series and a WEVA EXPO presenter was the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of the Jacksonville Videographers Association (JVA), where she presented her interactive educational seminar, “Sales, Marketing and Brides Oh My!”
Neal delivered proven tips and tricks on making and closing video sales, as well as getting inside the head of today’s bride. Additionally, she shared details on strategic industry-wide initiatives and new membership benefits that WEVA International has developed for professional wedding and event videographers nationally and worldwide.
Announced last fall in Boston at the NPVA’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, and reported in the current issue of Wedding & Event Videography Resource Guide, the new Ambassador Program is a WEVA professional development initiative that expands on eight years of WEVA Town Meeting events. Ambassador Program presentations provide information on key topics and video industry developments custom-tailored to the needs of individual local associations.
"Natalie Neal presented one of the best seminars that I have been privileged to have here at the JVA," said JVA President Merrill Moore. "We learned and laughed all the way through! I had several members go out of their way in emails and phone calls immediately afterwards to tell me what a great speaker she is and how educational she was at our meeting," Moore said.
"The launch of the WEVA Local Association Ambassador Program is a natural progression and outgrowth of WEVA’s continuous support for local associations over the past decade," said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman. "WEVA has been energized by the terrific response we've received from Merrill and local association leaders nationally to the announcement and implementation of this latest initiative, and to the new opportunities it’s already begun to provide. We’re looking forward to the upcoming Ambassador presentations already scheduled for the first half of this year. The local events will blend perfectly with WEVA's national initiatives, including the first-ever Engagements On Ice videos now playing on Brides.com, and the nationwide distribution of the wedding video TV commercials produced for last year's BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS series at WEVA EXPO."
