U.S. News Report on Wedding Video Available Again for Free Viewing

Sarasota, FL - When major news media confirm that it’s time to “Tell Uncle Bob to leave his camcorder home” and hire a professional instead, wedding and event videographers need a way to easily inform their clients, and today the information source of choice for most brides is the Internet.
“We’re pleased our discussions with U.S. News & World Report have enabled a free web link to the magazine’s well-researched article called ‘A Match Made On DVD,’ which was published last month and contains exciting, up-to-date information about the benefits of professional videography for today’s bride,” said WEVA International Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas.
“So many of our members have wanted to help keep brides informed about the newest trends in preserving wedding memories and were disappointed when this outstanding report went to the magazine’s ‘pay per view’ archive a week after its initial posting,” he said.

Confirming that professionalism in wedding videography has rapidly increased, the article by reporter Bret Schulte, which appeared in the February 28 issue of U.S. News & World Report relates that, “Aided by the latest editing and production software and the flexibility of the DVD format, videographers are turning the much-maligned wedding video into a professional-grade film.”
Couples who had their wedding videos produced by WEVA International members, Justin Parker (1-2 Remember Studios - Oak Ridge, NJ), and Kris Malandruccolo (Elegant Videos by Kris - Carol Stream, IL) are featured in the article, which reports that “videographers have become less invasive and more artistic than their forefathers. A wireless mike slipped into the groom's breast pocket records the vows. Light-sensitive cameras have replaced those with glaring headlights. And videographers can zoom in on the action without being part of it.”
New Jersey groom Ross Sussman, a Harvard medical student, relates in the article that Parker’s unobtrusive approach to wedding video coverage made the videographer virtually invisible, saying, “We didn't even know he was there...[his style] helped us feel like it really is our Hollywood movie.”
Carley Roney, editor-in-chief of The Knot, affirms in the report that the quality of today’s professional wedding video is “miles beyond what it was just five years ago.”

The article states, “On the horizon are high-definition video cameras, which will lead to a “cataclysmic change,” says Roy Chapman, president of the Wedding & Event Videographers Association.
