WEVA To Launch NLE Workshops City-Wide Nov.- April
October 11, 2005

Sarasota, FL - The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) will be “on the road” starting next month through April 2006 to bring “hands-on” product-specific NLE training using supplied laptops to wedding & event videographers in cities across the country in new, extended-session workshops.

City-stops being planned already include Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York City, with others cities to be announced soon.

“For the new season, WEVA Institute is introducing brand new NLE system training on supplied laptops in interactive workshops lasting all-day or half-days in cities across the country. Seating will be limited, with registration on a first-come basis," said WEVA International's Director of Educational Development John Zale.

NLE solutions already targeted for WEVA Institute’s product-specific training this fall and winter include those from Adobe, Canopus, Apple, and Avid.

"Training on supplied laptops has been successfully conducted in short-form sessions at WEVA EXPO. Now WEVA Institute will be presenting extended training on laptops regionally at our association’s city-wide workshops that start next month. Longer sessions will provide ample training time to allow videographers to get up-to-speed on new and cool creative techniques, editing shortcuts, and workflow efficiency on edit solutions they already use or are thinking of using."

As announced by Zale on October 5 at the scheduled meeting of the Michigan Independent Videographers Association (MIVA), the kick-off for the WEVA city-wide workshops begins in Detroit next month.

At the Michigan meeting, Zale announced WEVA Institute will be presenting an all-day (9:30am-5:30pm) hands-on training session on Adobe After Effects specifically tailored for wedding & event videographers in Detroit on Thursday, November 3.

Registration for the full-day After Effects workshop on November 3, presented by WEVA Creative Excellence Award Winner and WEVA EXPO featured speaker Javier Villarreal, is now open on the WEVA website.

"If you want to get your skills or the skills of your editors up to date on After Effects -- software that is transforming the look of photo/video montages and today's wedding videos, register to get a seat for this special all-day workshop now. Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. Advance registration is required," Zale said.

To register, click on WEVA Institute. WEVA members and those bringing their own preconfigured laptops to the workshop receive discount admission. A box lunch will be included.

“WEVA Institute workshops will also be held in conjunction with the 8th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour which will kick off in Atlanta after the first of the year,” said Zale.

“Our association members are already excited about the extended training sessions that will be held city-wide this fall and winter. By making system-specific training available on supplied laptops, and tailored specifically for wedding & event editing -- in cities nationwide, our association is leading the way for videographers to tune-up their production skills and get a competitive edge for their business.”

More details and registration information for WEVA Institute’s hands-on system training at the upcoming city-wide workshops will be posted soon on the association’s website at www.weva.com
