WEVA Town Meeting/Institute Registration Now Open

Sarasota, FL - Online registration is now open at www.weva.com for the 5th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour,which begins during Valentine's Week. The 2003 Town Meeting Tour, open to ALL videographers, will mark the introduction of brand-new, in-depth WEVA Institute workshops, which cover two days. The five-city Tour, sponsored by Sony, JVC, MacroSystem US, and Panasonic Broadcast will include stops in New York City, Chicago, IL, Anaheim, CA, Orlando, FL and Las Vegas, NV (during NAB). The complete 2003 Tour and Institute schedule, with program and registration details, is posted on the WEVA International website at www.weva.com.
"The WEVA Institute programming, which is being combined with this year's WEVA Town Meeting Tour, offers outstanding optional daytime workshops in creative, technical, and marketing aspects of professional wedding & event videography, and even includes free system-specific training workshops on new DV/DVD/NLE/Widescreen technology," said WEVA chairman Roy Chapman. The workshops start at 9:00 am in each city and conclude by 5:00 pm, in time for the opening of the WEVA Town Meeting. The WEVA Town Meeting is free to all professional videographers who register in advance online at www.weva.com and will feature hands-on exhibits of all new DV/DVD/NLE technology, cutting-edge industry presentations, screenings of WEVA Creative Excellence Award-winning wedding and event videos, and more.
Included in the two-day WEVA Institute line-up will be technical workshops hosted by each of the four Tour sponsors. In addition, there will be "how to" programs on new wedding and event creativity conducted by WEVA award-winning videographers, including Lance Gray of PixelPops Design/Blue Sky Media Group, Maureen Bacon of Impact Images, Tim Sudall of Video One, Mike Nelson of Remember When Videos, Tom Teneriello of PMV Productions, and Luisa Winters of Unforgettable Events (please note that Luisa’s workshop will be in Spanish only). Space is limited, so early registration is a must. Advance registration is recommended to avoid additional on-site fees. Special discounts are also available only to WEVA International members.
In New York City, the Town Meeting/Institute will be part of "WEVA Week 2003," a series of association events that will include a bridal media press conference, Local Association President's Council meeting, and a WEVA Camcorder Development Committee Meeting. The Town Meeting and Institute events will be held February 12-13, at the world-famous New Yorker Hotel, located across from Madison Square Garden.
Following the events in New York City, the WEVA Town Meeting Tour will touch down in: Orlando, FL on February 18 and 19, at the Sheraton World Resort (near Sea World); Chicago on February 25-26 at the Sheraton Chicago Northwest (in Arlington Heights); and Anaheim, CA March 5-6, at the Coast Anaheim Hotel (near Disneyland).
Wrapping up the 2003 WEVA Town Meeting Tour will be the Sponsor's Reception, at Bally's Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 8, during NAB week. Bally's/Paris, which will be the site for WEVA’s 13th Annual Wedding & Event Video EXPO (Aug. 25-28, 2003), will host the Town Meeting reception, which will include a video showcase of WEVA award-winning wedding and event video creativity.
