Special Awards, Hall of Fame Inductions Highlight EXPO 2002

Sarasota, FL - The WEVA Special Awards committee, acting upon nominations from the membership, announced its awards and inductions for 2002 during the Creative Excellence Awards Program at the recently completed WEVA EXPO 2002.
First given in 1999, the 2002 Walter Bennett Service to Industry Award, for Exemplary Professionalism and Dedication to Education, was presented to Mark Shepherd, from Shepherd Video Productions, in San Jose, CA.
The Bob LeBar Vision Award, for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Spirit, was presented to Robert Allen Ehrlich, Videojournalist, from Livingston, NJ.
The WEVA Hall of Fame opened in 2000, with the Tools and Technology exhibit. That display is open during EXPO every year. 2002 brought the second group of inductees. The 2002 Hall of Fame inductees were: George Alford, Marlene Cafarelli, Robert Allen Ehrlich, Jenny Lehman, Art Polin, and Randy Stubbs.
Kathy Ritondo is the chair of the WEVA Special Awards Committee. Other members are: Joyce Bertolami, Rudy Childs, Ken Kurita, Julie Smith, Phil Smith, and Trisha Thompson.
Nominations for the Hall of Fame and Special Awards will open in the first quarter of 2003.
