CT PVA Hosts Bridal Panel, Aims For State-Wide TV
June 20, 2002

Sarasota, FL - On Tuesday, June 18, the Professional Videographer's Association of
Connecticut (PVA) hosted a Bride's Panel. It was set up as a round table discussion, and was switched live. The tape is to be shown on Cable Access Television throughout Connecticut, to promote professional wedding videography.

The panel included a mother of the bride, along with two of her daughters. One of the daughters was married 7 years ago, and the other was married in 2001. Also on the panel was a bride-to-be, planning an October, 2002 wedding.

The Board of Directors had decided the questions to ask, and the panelists were given the questions in advance. This would prevent any question from catching the panelists unprepared, but also allowed them to fully develop their answers.

The PVA purposely avoided questions that could be seen, in any way, as demeaning to their photographers, or questions about fees. The PVA questions were posed in such a way as to elicit an emotional response, and panelists certainly reacted as hoped. One bride became teary-eyed while reminiscing about the comments her husband had lovingly made about her on their tape.

Another bride said her favorite moment was when the videographer panned her whole family while the photographer was shooting, and everyone was smiling and looked so happy. They mentioned several times the value they placed on the
personal messages from their guests. They also were very happy with how unobtrusive the videographer was, while managing to capture so much that the couple had missed.

The last question was this: "if you were given a choice of keeping your video, or your photo album, which one would you choose"?. They all choose the video, stating that because you can hear the voices, and see people being themselves. It brought them back to to day as if they were there again.
