Local Association Presidents Meet During NAB
April 15, 2002
Las Vegas, NV - With representatives from nine different Local Videographers Associations in attendance, WEVA hosted the second of three yearly Local Association Presidents Council meetings in conjunction with the WEVA Town Meeting, held during NAB week in Las Vegas.
Presidents Council meetings offer an opportunity for association representatives to share ideas and programs that have benefited their groups throughout the year. At this year's meeting in Las Vegas topics included:
-Guest Speakers. A proven draw is having a presenter who is a successful videographer from another market.
-How to market DVD's to your clients. Representatives of companies that burn DVD's for professional videographers are usually happy to bring a program to your association.
-Panel of Bridal Consultants. As with any other panel discussion, a completely objective moderator is essential. The consultants in your area can offer ideas, from marketing to cooperating on the job, that may prove invaluable.
-Video "Show and Tell," where many videographers share short clips of their own work.
By hosting three Local Association Presidents Council meetings annually (eastern region in New York City; western region in Las Vegas during NAB; and a global session during WEVA EXPO), and by providing assistance to videographers interested in starting local associations, WEVA International continues to fulfill its mission of providing education and leadership for professional videographers in all markets. |
