New York Town Meeting Video Now on WEVA-TV

Sarasota, FL - Streaming video highlights of the jam-packed WEVA Town Meeting in New York City (Jan. 21) sponsored by Sony, Moore Digital, Panasonic Broadcast and Canopus, are now posted on the WEVA homepage at www.weva.com (click on the yellow banner crawl). Extended video of the special NYC educational presentations, including tips & techniques from presentations by Donna & Robin Greenwood (Pre-ceremony Creativity), Lance Gray (Photoshop), Luisa Winters (Premiere) and more, will be uploaded shortly.
"The New York highlights video, produced by the WEVA Stream Team, features on-site interviews and is one of 10 quick clips that will be streamed following each of the 10 city-stops on this year's 4th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour," said WEVA chairman, Roy Chapman. "One of the key reasons for producing and uploading the clips is to demonstrate new technology in action and showcase the advantages and constantly-improving quality of video-on-the-web, which is offering new opportunities for members of our sector of professional video."
New for this year's viewing is the choice of a larger 640 x 480 screen-size clip that demonstrates the vast potential of Internet video.
"Using the latest in compression software, Media Cleaner 5.1, coupled with Sorenson 3.0 and QDesign Music Pro 2, we are able to provide WEVA-TV with the highest quality video available on the Internet," notes Rob Coupe of Couped-Up Productions, which is in its second year of digitizing video for the WEVA website.
Coupe advises that due to state-of-the-art encoding, some of WEVA-TV Town Meeting clips will require the latest (faster) computer processors. "Viewers may experience an audio delay or stuttering if their computers are using older and slower processors," said Coupe. "The 640 x 480 NYC clip has been encoded at 30 fps, an amazing feat for Internet video. But to achieve smooth viewing you'll need a faster processor--no less than a Pentium III with a 500 mghtz processor. The Hi-Res 360 x 240 clip is encoded at 15 fps and should play fine with a minimum of a Pentium II." Coupe also reminds viewers that a broadband connection (cable modem, DSL or a T1) is required to view the clips immediately.
Visitors using a 56k dial-up modem can view the larger-size clips in Quicktime Video, which gets saved in the "temporary Internet files" folder of your computer. It will take time to download, but once the download is completed the clip will be ready for instant replay depending on the speed of your computer.
