Pioneer Meets With WEVA, Talks Burners
January 15, 2002
New York, NY - Representatives of Pioneer's New Media Technologies division met with several WEVA members at a mid-town restaurant today, to receive input on DVD burners of the future.
WEVA Member Services Committee chair Tim Ryan was accompanied by Tom Weppler (Premiere Video), Al Ritondo (Personal Touch Video), and Angela Caldara (Fox Video). The Pioneer delegation was led by Sandra Benedetto, Director of Product Development.
Pioneer invited WEVA to this 2-1/2 hour long meeting as a part of their future development of DVD burners, and for possible updates to the popular Pioneer 9000. WEVA member input was considered vital to Pioneer in their quest to be the standard for the industry.
Nearly every important aspect of DVD burners was open for consideration, including pricing, features, formats, and compatability. Pioneer will continue to offer burners that operate within standard DVD protocols, avoiding proprietary applications.
Manufacturers like Pioneer, and WEVA member end users both have an interest in having the best possible products on the market. Meetings such as the one today help foster cooperation that makes great products possible. |
