Growing List of International Attendees Heading to WEVA EXPO Set to Expand New Creativity Worldwide!
July 22, 2005

Sarasota, FL - The diversity of attendees heading to the WEVA 15th annual Wedding & Event Video Expo 2005 (August 8-11) continues expanding far beyond the USA.

"Professional wedding & event videographers will be attending WEVA EXPO 2005 from as far as Japan, Australia, Singapore, Philippines, United Kingdom, Europe, South America, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Canada, and Mexico,” said Dan Argenas, Director of Association Communications for Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA). Admission to WEVA EXPO 2005 is open to both WEVA members and non-members. WEVA International members receive special discount admission. Early-bird discount registration is available through Monday, July 25th.

“The global networking, and the amazing educational presentations featuring international presenters at this year’s WEVA EXPO 2005 will be an awesome experience for professional videographers,” Argenas said. “It’s an exciting part of what makes the WEVA convention a truly unique and inspiring experience. There is nothing like this special environment for wedding and event videographers anywhere else in the world.”

Next month, Wedding & Event Videographers Association International, the world leader in professional development for wedding & event videographers, will celebrate the 15th year of the international EXPO with a “world without borders” approach to cutting-edge creativity by unveiling the first-ever international BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! - World Cup Wedding Editing program. This special presentation heading to Wedding & Event Video Expo 2005 will feature the United States, Australia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom in an all-new Battle of the Wedding Editing Styles!

“Awesome wedding video creativity and techniques are not limited geographically – and that’s abundantly clear from previous WEVA EXPOs,” said John Zale, Director of Educational Development at WEVA.

”Creative editing has become a key ingredient of today’s top-quality wedding work. This special WEVA EXPO 2005 program will present an all-new, and inspiring way to energize your creative juices. It will touch the imagination and I believe the hearts, of every professional videographer who attends,” said Zale. “Many dedicated efforts and the sheer talent of WEVA International members worldwide is making this happen, for the first time ever, and we couldn’t be more excited!”

WEVA EXPO 2005 attendees will see the world premier of each challenger’s video production in each "BATTLE" segment in the WEVA EXPO BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! Theater at the world famous Las Vegas Hilton.

Plus, Q&A discussions with the global challengers will reveal how and why special shots, subjects, images, audio elements, interviews, production locations, and editing effects were selected.

WEVA International changed the landscape of professional development education for wedding and event videographers when the association originated and developed the BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series and introduced the WEVA "Love Story Shoot-Out" at WEVA EXPO 2003.

“This August, in honor of the EXPO's 15-year milestone, our association is making history once again by introducing all-new production concepts into BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! It’s going to be an unparalleled contest of camerawork, editing techniques, editing styles, and post-production creativity like our industry has never seen before," Zale said.

"Not only will you see the original wedding footage and final productions of each challenger compared side-by-side, you will also learn HOW each videographer did the effects, HOW they created their unique style and approach. It's going to be the type of 'behind-the-scenes,' how-to session that videographers always want to see, but rarely get the chance," said Zale.

At WEVA EXPO 2005, Zale notes the BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! challengers will be attending the convention and available for networking and questions throughout the show. "It's the best and most exciting opportunity of the year to expand your skill-set and your video artistry, and find out what you really want to know," he said.

"The BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series scheduled for WEVA EXPO 2005 is just one segment of a incredible program line-up that includes over 70 cutting-edge seminars, workshops, demonstrations, 'hands-on' trade show exhibits with software-specific training all targeted to professional wedding & event videogaphers...plus there will be the all-new WEVA HD Weddings Theater,” said Argenas.

“We know WEVA members want to stay on top. That’s a primary reason why our association holds the annual EXPO in the summer. It enables professional videographers to return to their studio and be best prepared for the biggest period of wedding announcements, which traditionally begins over the Christmas holidays and continues through Valentine’s Day,” Argenas said.

“Holding the annual EXPO in August instead of January or February, for example, allows WEVA members to be far ahead of the curve, artistically and technically, when the biggest bridal booking season begins in the winter months."
