WEVA Teams With Modern Bride to Promote Professional Videography Nationwide
July 11, 2005
Sarasota, FL - The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) has teamed with the Fairchild Bridal Group, publishers of Modern Bride, Brides, and Elegant Bride, to launch a nationwide promotional campaign spotlighting cutting-edge video produced by WEVA members.
“As the leader in our market, Fairchild Bridal Group is excited by the ability to launch a unique co-promotion with WEVA, the leading organization for professional wedding and event videographers,” said David Katz, Director of Advertising for Fairchild Bridal Group. “Working together with WEVA on this specific promotion, and as partners in other projects, will give our brides more valuable information involving the choices for preserving their memories on video.”
Dan Argenas, Director of Association Communications for WEVA agrees. “Not only are we pleased that David and his team at Fairchild are working with us on this promotion, but adding such leading brands like Modern Bride to this nationwide promotion, to the WEVA Town Meetings, and to our upcoming 15th annual EXPO next month gives our association the opportunity to expand awareness of the value of professional videography services and the creative talent of WEVA members,” he said.
Fairchild and WEVA have announced their first co-promotion as “Win A Wedding Photo Montage Video” a nationwide contest prospective brides can enter through Modern Bride and Fairchild’s online media.
The contest will be launched following WEVA EXPO 2005 (August 8-11) and two winning bridal couples will be chosen in 2006, from essay submissions, to receive a fully-edited, network-quality PHOTO MONTAGE VIDEO on DVD produced by WEVA members.
Applying creative visual artistry, the PHOTO MONTAGE VIDEO will feature a compilation of the prospective bride and groom’s chosen photos tracing their life history and personal relationship as a couple.
“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to work with WEVA and the association’s talented professional videographers,” said Katz. “We are confident that our readers will agree that Modern Bride always strives to present the latest, cutting-edge tools for them to make their wedding an event to remember, and this type of creative memory-maker video is one of those tools.”
The winning couple, the WEVA member and the special video production will be the subject of a spotlight feature in Modern Bride Connection and on the Modern Bride website.
The Fairchild Bridal Group, including Modern Bride Connection with its 17 regional publications in the country’s top markets, has a total distribution of 1.6 million nationwide.
“Photo Montage Videos, which are often projected at wedding receptions, have become increasingly popular across the country,” said Argenas. “And as seen by the winning video entries in the annual WEVA Creative Excellence Awards Competition, and at the EXPO’s annual BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series, which was created and developed by WEVA, our members have taken Photo Montage Videos to breathtaking levels of artistry and emotional impact. We are very excited that this special stand-alone production, which has evolved into a unique category all its own, has been selected to kick off the first WEVA/Fairchild co-promotion starting this fall.”
Argenas added that a key reason WEVA holds its annual EXPO in the summer is to enable professional videographers to be best prepared for the biggest period of wedding announcements, which traditionally begins over the Christmas holidays and continues through Valentine’s Day. “Holding the annual EXPO in August instead of January or February, for example, allows WEVA members to be far ahead of the curve, artistically and technically, when the biggest bridal booking season begins in the winter months.”
WEVA will host a special “Nationwide with Modern Bride” Photo Montage Video Competition to select two WEVA members, including a runner-up, for the major media promotion. WEVA members who attend WEVA EXPO 2005 will be eligible to enter. Further details will be announced at the EXPO during the convention’s BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! presentation.
“From looking at the schedule of outstanding programs planned for this year’s EXPO, we know WEVA members will return to their studios with a whole host of awesome techniques and creative ideas in many different areas of video production,” Argenas said. “We look forward to seeing the inspiring new work that will be generated, and increasing public awareness of the full range and value of creative video services that WEVA members offer as our association prepares for the launch of this first-ever ‘Nationwide with Modern Bride’ co-promotion.”
