Sony Joins 2005 WEVA Town Meeting Tour

Sarasota, FL - “Sony has joined the 7th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour as an official 2005 Tour sponsor, and will be providing videographers across the country with their first hands-on view of new pro HDV equipment along with state-of-the-art education on new developments in digital video production for wedding and event work,” said WEVA International Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas.
The upcoming Tour will be traveling to five major cities beginning in March 2005, including Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, and Las Vegas (at NAB).
"We are pleased to have Sony on-board for our 2005 Tour, especially at a time when WEVA International members have so many questions surrounding their equipment decisions and the changing production environment,” said WEVA’s Director of Educational Development John Zale.
Already on-board for the 2005 Town Meeting Tour along with Sony, is Adobe Systems. “Both of these key companies continue to show a dedicated commitment to continuing education for the WEVA community,” said Zale.
The WEVA Town Meetings, which are held in the evening at each city-stop, draw hundreds of attendees for every event. In the morning and afternoon period of each Tour day, WEVA will present a full slate of WEVA Institute workshops custom-tailored to professional wedding and event videographers.
"The commitment from WEVA Town Meeting Tour sponsors will allow many of our daytime Institute workshops to be presented free of charge or at a reduced rate for professional videographers," Zale said. The WEVA Institute workshops, will conclude before the start of the evening Town Meeting, which is also free of charge.
“The WEVA Institute workshops being planned in conjunction with our 2005 Tour will help videographers navigate new system changes occurring in digital technology, provide extended system training, and will spotlight important new trends in wedding and event video creativity, techniques, and business marketing,” Zale said.
Open to all videographers, each WEVA Town Meeting will feature special hands-on exhibits by the WEVA Tour Sponsors, complimentary buffet dinner, screenings of WEVA Creative Excellence Award-winning wedding and event productions, presentations by leading WEVA videographers, as well as the opportunity to win valuable video gear in free door prize drawings. “And, because it’s a WEVA event, the peer networking at each WEVA Town Meeting is always outstanding," said Zale.
Program information and online registration for the 7th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour and WEVA Institute workshops will open soon on a special “Town Meeting” section of the WEVA website at www.weva.com.
