WEVA EXPO Trade Show Nearing Sell-Out!
July 23, 2004
Sarasota, FL - Exhibit space for this year’s WEVA EXPO, The 14th Annual International Convention and Trade Show for Professional Wedding & Event Videographers is almost completely sold-out. “Just three or four 8x10 exhibit booths remain available at this time; and these are expected to be booked quickly by last-minute suppliers who want the business of WEVA attendees,” said Dan Argenas, WEVA International’s Director of Association Communications.
The list of exhibitors for WEVA EXPO 2004 is posted on the association’s website at www.weva.com/expo2004 (click on Trade Show). More exhibitor listings will be uploaded to the site later today, Argenas said, adding that many new products and DV systems will be making their official debut at WEVA EXPO, which has been devoted to professional wedding and event videographers for the past 13 years.
“When the doors to the WEVA Trade Show open on Tuesday morning August 17, videographers will find the entire exhibit hall at Bally’s filled wall-to-wall with products and accessories of all types that can immediately improve workflow, creativity, presentation, production and marketing, and the bottom-line profits of anyone working in professional wedding and event videography,” Argenas said.
“Due to the exceptional EXPO programming that’s developed by and for WEVA attendees, WEVA is the place dedicated videographers want to be because attending the show can save months, even years of costly and frustrating trial-and-error,” said Argenas.
Also, he added, the information that videographers learn at WEVA EXPO “translates into dollars very quickly. For example, let’s say a WEVA attendee is producing 40-50 weddings or events annually. They attend WEVA EXPO and learn a series of new techniques, a new concept, or a proven marketing strategy that allows them to go back and earn an additional $400-$1,000 per event for the upcoming year. If you’re doing 40-50 events that could easily total an extra $20,000-$50,000 in bottom-line income. Even earning half that amount sure beats sitting at home during the three days the EXPO is going on.”
This year, Argenas related, manufacturers have reserved even more space for “hands-on” exhibits, particularly to provide free training on workstations. “One of the key reasons WEVA EXPO has remained such a great convention is because WEVA attendees know from experience that when they enter the WEVA Trade Show they will be able to go hands-on with all of the hardware and software in an industry-specific environment, get their technical questions answered quickly and easily, and get great deals on-site through special EXPO-only pricing.”
In addition to a packed trade show and the more than 60 seminars and workshops devoted to professional wedding and event videography, this year’s EXPO is also hosting the first written exam for WEVA International’s new Merited Professional Videographer (MPV) accreditation program. As announced earlier, the exam will be held Monday morning, August 16 (the enrollment information/application will be posted on the WEVA site next week).
“Education has always been the key to rapid advancement in professional wedding and event videography. WEVA’s main mission of providing education and professional development training has proven successful for both videographers and suppliers,” said Argenas. “As WEVA attendees discover more ways to improve their technical skills, learn better ways to market, and become more efficient in their business, their profits increase and they in turn have the ability to purchase the types of equipment at EXPO that they need and want to grow their business. That’s why, especially with all of the new changes taking place in our industry, WEVA guest rooms at Bally’s are now filling up, and everyone is already looking forward to another exciting, and ground-breaking EXPO next month.”
