New Association Staff Changes Announced
June 18, 2004
Sarasota, FL - WEVA International has announced recent changes in staff and service providers who have played prominent roles in the association’s on-going activities. Steve Wernick of Videoccasion who handled media relations and other management services for the association, including management of the WEVA Town Meeting Tour, is no longer affiliated with WEVA due to philosophical differences with the administration. Tim Ryan of Treasured Memories Video, who directed WEVA member services, including directing WEVA EXPO, has left the WEVA development environment to pursue other professional interests.
WEVA International’s new Director of Association Communications, Dan Argenas, announced today that WEVA EXPO 2004 directorial duties will be handled by Marc Rogers through Event Solutions, Inc. “This will be Marc’s second year in top management capacity for WEVA International at the annual EXPO,” said Argenas.
“Marc’s extensive audio/video and event production background, coupled with his many years of direct convention and exhibition management for associations, corporations, and government agencies has allowed him to bring tremendous insight and experience to the production of WEVA EXPO.” As WEVA EXPO Director, Rogers is backed by the event management and administration expertise of Event Solutions, Inc.
Argenas, who was announced as WEVA’s new Director of Association Communications earlier this week, said registration for the WEVA 14th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo (August 16-19, 2004) will open online next week at www.weva.com.
“WEVA International will be unveiling over 60 cutting-edge seminars and workshops covering all aspects of professional wedding and event videography,” said Argenas.
“The WEVA Trade Show alone covers over 41,000 square feet, and this year the hall will be filled to capacity with all new DV, DVD, HD, NLE systems, and more. Attendees will be able to go hands-on with new camcorders, audio and duplication gear, power solutions, and a variety of other key products and services developed for professional wedding and event videographers."
Exhibitors at WEVA EXPO 2004 will include major manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Canon, Apple, Canopus, Adobe, Avid, Matrox, MacroSystem, Laird, Sachtler, Bogen, Anton/Bauer, Vinten, Azden, Ste-Man, Lowel, IDX, Ulead, Lectrosonics, nNovia, Lite Panel, Eartech, Focus Enhancements, Edirol, Schneider Optics, TDK, Sonic Solutions, Hollywood Lite, Camplex Corp., Redding, Microboards, and many other industry suppliers. The WEVA EXPO 2004 List of Exhibitors will be posted online with the opening of convention registration next week.
Companies like Avid, Apple and others are already set to have classroom style (system-specific training) sessions at this year’s EXPO to allow videographers to go hands-on at NLE workstations and get product-specific training right on the show floor.
“For 14 years the EXPO has been completely dedicated to professional wedding and event videographers,” said Argenas. “With all of the exciting new changes occurring in this industry, WEVA EXPO 2004 is already set to be WEVA’s biggest show to date.”
