Disaster Relief Committee Formed
September 20, 2001
Sarasota, FL - As any reader of the WEVA Production and Marketing Forum can tell you, the WEVA member response to last week's terrorist attacks has been heart-warming and rapid. The question was what WEVA members, as professional videographers already skilled in preserving memories, can do to contribute to the nation's healing process.
The resounding answer was a willingness among WEVA members to donate their services to create memorial videos that honor those killed on September 11. To coordinate the effort, WEVA veteran John Weppler, of Premiere Video in Lindenhurst, NY has stepped forward to chair the Disaster Response Committee. As the son of a New York City firefighter, Weppler knows better than most how it feels to be a part of preserving life.
This will not be a short-term effort, according to Weppler. "We want this to eventually transform into a community service committee," said Weppler. "WEVA videographers are very generous people, and this will provide a way to give back to our communities," he added.
More committee members, and responsibilities, will be outlined shortly. Suggestions and offers of assistance will be accepted by John Weppler via email at [email protected]. To view the September 11th Memorial Project Page, Click Here |
