WEVA Mourns the Passing of Graham Fenton
October 27, 2003

Sarasota, FL - Graham Fenton, an internationally renowned videographer and industry educator, whose innovative wedding creativity touched and inspired videographers around the globe, died Sunday at a hospital near his home in Poulton, Lancashire, England. He was 49.

According to his wife, Janet, Graham's death will not mark the end of his studio, The Graham Fenton Experience. "It was his firm wish that we continue operations," she said. "His magic has touched us all, and we'll be proud to build upon the successful company that he worked on for so many years."

The first WEVA exposure for Graham Fenton was at EXPO 2001, where he was a featured speaker. His seminar unveiled an innovative "pop video" approach to wedding concept creativity for the MTV Generation, and was highly praised by attendees. Entering the Creative Excellence Awards Competition for the very first time that year, The Graham Fenton Experience captured a WEVA Gold Award in the Concept Video category. That single video entry was so unique that Graham earned an additional accolade at the Awards Presentation: a standing ovation from a ballroom filled with his peers.

The company went on to win additional WEVA Creative Excellence Awards for their brilliant wedding work. Throughout the course of his illness, Graham and Janet continued to share their talent and experience with WEVA members worldwide.

Although slowed by the cancer that was discovered in mid-2002, Graham and Janet still found time to attend the 2003 WEVA Town Meeting in New York. Despite Graham’s extensive chemotherapy regimen, both he and Janet Fenton were featured presenters at WEVA EXPO 2003.

Graham is survived by his wife of fourteen months, Janet, and children James, 16, and Sophie, 14, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31 at St. Chad's Church, in Poulton le Fylde, Lancashire, England, at 11:00 am. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be directed to the Colorectal Society, c/o David Hollowell & Sons, Devonshire House Funeral Home, 287 Devonshire Rd., Blackpool, Lancashire, England FY2 0TW.
