|Final Town Meeting of 2002 Held In Las Vegas
April 15, 2002
Las Vegas, NV - The 4th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour was brought to a close with a dynamic reception at Bally's Las Vegas on April 9. With over 500 registering in advance, the meeting was a rousingly successful way to end the 2002 Tour, which saw a tremendous turn-out of videographers in each of the 10 cities on this year's tour.
The WEVA Town Meeting in Las Vegas provided professional wedding and event videographers with an excellent opportunity to network, view (and learn from) WEVA Creative Excellence Award winning videography, and talk one-on-one with the Tour Sponsors about their newest digital video products and services.
Addresssing the crowd of Town Meeting attendees, WEVA Chairman Roy Chapman noted that, "This year's NAB press conferences and new product introductions reveal our industry is continuing to move 'up the ladder' in terms of recognition and industry influence among major manufacturers. Videographers will continue benefiting from the falling prices and increasing quality of new and improved digital video equipment. New and affordable technology is allowing talent to shine through like never before!"
The Las Vegas meeting gave WEVA Town Meeting Tour Director Tim Ryan the chance to screen videos not seen elsewhere. "In 2002, we saw many videographers attending two, if not three, Town Meetings," Ryan said, adding, "we made sure that the program varied in each city."
Tour Manager Steve Wernick shot video in Las Vegas, as in every other city on the Tour. After editing by John Weppler and encoding by Rob Coupe, the video highlights from the WEVA Town Meeting in Las Vegas will join the many others on WEVA-TV (the click-through is located on the home page at www.weva.com).
WEVA International thanks everyone who joined us on the 2002 Town Meeting Tour. Attendance exceeded expectations in every city on this year's Tour. WEVA International also thanks the four sponsors of this year's Town Meeting Tour: Sony, Moore Digital, Panasonic Broadcast, and Canopus for their support in making this year's 4th Annual Tour the most successful to date.
WEVA's next major event combining education and new digital video technology will be the WEVA 12th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo, August 26-29, 2002 at the Bally's Las Vegas Convention Center. WEVA EXPO 2002, the industry's largest convention and trade show is open to all professional wedding and event videographers. For more information visit www.weva.com and click on WEVA EXPO.
