WEVA 'Take a Bridal Consultant To Lunch Week' Begins Jan. 9
September 27, 2005
Sarasota, FL - To coincide with the annual start of the new wedding season, the week beginning January 9, 2006 has been designated as "Take A Bridal Consultant to Lunch Week" by the Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA).
“We are asking WEVA members to mark their calendar now to save the dates, and watch for upcoming details on the WEVA website, and in the new issue of Wedding & Event Videography Magazine that will be published next month,” said WEVA Public Relations Committee Chairperson Kris Malandruccolo, owner of Elegant Videos By Kris (IL). “Planning ahead is vital for reaching local wedding consultants, and of course, scheduling early in the week is best for both consultants and videographers.
The new intra-industry promotion is the result of a proactive initiative created by the WEVA Public Relations Committee to help foster greater awareness of the exciting new developments occurring in professional videography, as seen last month at WEVA EXPO 2005 where the concept for the promotion was unveiled.
“We will be encouraging WEVA members to arrange plans so that many of the lunch meetings with local bridal consultants can be held starting Monday, January 9. The goal is for videographers to share with wedding planners information about new and exciting trends shaping professional wedding videography and their own work, and the wonderful results that can be achieved," said Malandruccolo.
Networking, she noted, is recognized as one of the best ways to develop a good business relationship. "Through this new association initiative, WEVA members will be provided with materials and ground-breaking information they can use to jumpstart that relationship. The promotion is timed to take place right when the wedding industry, including bridal shows and the bridal media, traditionally spotlight new developments in wedding planning. Early January is ideal as that's the time when most wedding videographers want to be ready and available to book new business following the Christmas holidays, which traditionally is the biggest period for engagement announcements."
Included in the materials being arranged for WEVA members are contact templates, topic templates, and results from the 2005 WEVA Nationwide Survey of Brides now in progress, as well as other materials and tips for a successful lunch. “We're excited by this new initiative,” said Malandruccolo, “and we look forward to providing additional details shortly!"
Along with Malandruccolo, the WEVA Public Relations Committee members include, Al Ritondo, Personal Touch Video (NY); Natalie Neal, Glass Slipper Productions (PA); and Mike Nelson, Remember When Video Productions (UT). Suggestions for the current initiative and ideas for new programs are welcomed by the WEVA Public Relations Committee and can be emailed to Kris@ElegantVideosByKris.com
