| More Companies Gearing-Up for WEVA EXPO; New System Training Offered
July 26, 2005
Sarasota, FL - “The latest additions to the increasing List of Exhibitors shows why the WEVA 15th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo 2005 (August 8-11 at the Las Vegas Hilton) will be the best opportunity of the year for professional wedding & event videographers to go 'hands-on' with all the newest products and services for improving workflow, production quality, and bottom-line income--and get the best deals from show-only discounts and bundles,” said Dan Argenas, Director of Association Communications for Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA).
Just added to the diversity of exhibitors heading to WEVA EXPO 2005 are: Pinnacle Systems, Ripple Training, Edgewise Media, The Camera Mall, Home Movie Depot, and TapeStockOnline.Com. They join the growing list of WEVA EXPO 2005 exhibitors already announced on the WEVA EXPO 2005 website at www.weva.com/expo2005.
"Videographers across the country have asked our association to encourage WEVA EXPO 2005 exhibitors to offer more opportunities for system-specific training, and this year's program definitely refelects that emphasis," Argenas said.
Apple will be presenting an all-new, 4.5-hour “Afternoon with Apple” workshop that is free, to WEVA attendees on Monday afternoon, August 8, 2005 before the convention opens.
Avid announced today that they will showcase a pre-release version of their Avid Xpress® Pro HD system which offers real-time, multi-format multicam editing; automatic color correction for multiple clips; image stabilization with auto-zoom; and more, and is compatible with HDV and formats such as DV25, DV50, DVCPRO HD and uncompressed SD. Avid will be offering hands-on training on the new system, along with show-only discount pricing.
Canopus will be providing regular intervals of EDIUS Pro 3 training on HP workstations that feature EDIUS NX with HDV board sets. EDIUS Pro 3 is designed to provide a seamless, realtime workflow supporting all video acquisition formats, with realtime, multi-track, mixed format HD/SD editing, compositing, chroma keying, titling and timeline output capabilities.
Adobe Systems, which last year had two separate exhibit spaces, will have one, all-encompassing exhibit space this year, and will include multiple computer workstations for direct, hands-on sessions with Adobe software.
Exhibits by Sony, JVC Professional Products, and Panasonic Broadcast will be spotlighting DV plus new HD/HDV technology, including high-definition cameras, recorders, and presentation systems. Professional wedding & event videographers will have their best opportunity of the year to compare systems and get answers directly from product managers and system engineers.
The WEVA EXPO 2005 Trade Show will be open for two days – August 9-10, 2005. Products and services scheduled for display are directly targeted to professional wedding & event work and can be purchased right from the show floor -- many through special “show-only” discount pricing that allows WEVA attendees to realize significant savings.
WEVA EXPO 2005 will feature over 70 cutting-edge seminars, workshops, hands-on exhibits, special activities, and demonstrations devoted to shooting, editing, marketing, and selling professional wedding & event videography.
“Plus there will also be the new Sony HDV Theater and new WEVA HD Weddings Theater -- and three all-new programs in WEVA’s original BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series, created by WEVA International exclusively for Wedding & Event Video Expo,” said Argenas.
“We know WEVA members want to stay on top. That’s a primary reason why our association holds the annual EXPO in the summer. It enables professional videographers to return to their studio and be best prepared for the biggest period of wedding announcements, which traditionally begins over the Christmas holidays and continues through Valentine’s Day,” Argenas said.
“Holding the annual EXPO in August, instead of January or February, for example, allows WEVA members to be far ahead of the curve, artistically and technically, when the biggest bridal booking season begins in the winter months."
