|WEVA’s Educational Development Director To Appear At AVA Meeting In Atlanta November 8
October 18, 2004
Sarasota, FL - On Monday, November 8th, WEVA International's Director of Educational Development John Zale will speak to the Atlanta Videographers Association (AVA) to announce new plans for the Atlanta city-stop, which is part of the upcoming 7th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour. The Tour, which begins in late February 2005 will also include city-stops in Chicago, San Francisco, New York City, and Las Vegas (at NAB).
“WEVA is excited by the opportunity to present all new programming on the upcoming Tour that will enable professional wedding and event videographers to take their business to higher levels of creativity and profitability,” said Zale.
"Attending the AVA,” he said, “is a terrific chance to meet our industry colleagues who are part of one of the fastest-growing local videographers associations in the country! It’s also an excellent opportunity for WEVA to hear direct input from local area videographers on key topics. This feedback will help shape the educational content and the new system training sessions that will be presented during the Tour-stop in Atlanta.”
The WEVA Town Meeting in Atlanta will be part of a special two-day WEVA event that will feature WEVA Institute training sessions dedicated to professional wedding and event videographers on both days of the event, along with the exciting WEVA Town Meeting in the evening, which is free of charge to all industry professionals.
Along with the extra day of WEVA Institute sessions being planned for Atlanta, Zale noted the written exam for the new WEVA Merited Professional Videographer (MPV) accreditation program will also be administered (for MPV enrollment details see www.weva.com). The first written exam for the MPV credential was administered in August in conjunction with WEVA EXPO 2004. The MPV exam is also expected to be administered at other venues, in addition to Atlanta, on the 2005 Tour.
“In Atlanta, and at each city-stop, videographers will also be able to see WEVA Creative Excellence Award winning videos at the WEVA Town Meeting Video Fest, learn cutting-edge production and marketing techniques, get inside information on new “niche” business opportunities that are producing extra income for sharp-marketing videographers, go hands-on with new digital video gear, and network with fellow videographers,” said WEVA Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas.
“For November 8, AVA President Bob Perl has organized another dynamic, fully-packed agenda,” said Zale. “Complete details are available on the AVA website at http://www.atlantavideographers.net/20268_1415.asp and I look forward to seeing everybody in Atlanta next month!”
