‘Creating Movies That Mean Business’ Sets Theme for WEVA EXPO 2007; Unveiling the Wedding Video 'Studio That Sells!'
March 20, 2007
Sarasota, FL - "It’s The Video! ...Creating Movies That Mean Business" is the theme set for the WEVA International 17th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo, August 13-16, 2007 at Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas.
"Now that the high-quality work our members have been doing for years is finally receiving the recognition it deserves, our industry is becoming recognized as the filmmakers for this generation’s lifecycle events," said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman.
"WEVA EXPO 2007 will reveal how videographers can increase their success exponentially with social and corporate events both creatively and financially, and will provide in-depth training on new edit solutions, plus 'Camera Clinics' for improving your camcorder techniques hands-on, including HD units. WEVA will also showcase the biggest Trade Show for wedding and event videographers, including a brand new WEVA pavilion exhibit called 'The Wedding Video Studio That Sells!'" he added.
Unveiling 'The Studio That Sells!'
As reported in Wedding & Event Videography Resource Guide, this first-ever, live Studio exhibit, will model the office/home-office of a contemporary wedding and event videography business outfitted with new and affordable video gear installed for creativity in a speedy workflow environment, and crafted with a retail-inspired design for boosting video sales. See how to "retailize" your space for making more sales without having to be in a retail location.
Open to both WEVA members and non-members (members receive discount admission), WEVA EXPO 2007 opens Monday night August 13, 2007 with a special (and complimentary) grand-opening "Evening In Paris" dinner reception in the glittering ballroom of Paris Las Vegas.
The winning videos in WEVA’s upcoming 17th Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition will be announced and screened that night. The spectacular roof-top pool of Paris Las Vegas, next to the glowing Eiffel Tower replica, overlooking the dazzling lights of the Las Vegas Strip, will be the setting for the WEVA industry-wide networking event on Tuesday evening August 14.
WEVA EXPO 2007's cutting-edge seminars and workshops on new wedding and event video production techniques, and the new technology exhibits slated for the two-day WEVA Trade Show (August 14-15), will be headquartered at Bally’s Las Vegas, which directly adjoins Paris.
"Over 70 cutting-edge technical and creativity Seminars, ‘Camera Clinics,’ New Equipment Demonstrations, product-specific Editing Workshops (Avid, Apple, Adobe, Canopus, Vegas, etc.), BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS!, new Web video techniques, plus new Production Technique Workshops, Wedding Video Marketing Strategies, and top Video Business Sales Boosters will be presented by leading wedding and event videographers from across the US and worldwide, and by other top industry experts," said John Zale, WEVA International’s Director of Educational Development.
Optional, Pre-Convention Workshops featuring hands-on edit system training, and more, will be presented Monday afternoon and conclude before the Opening Night Gala begins. WEVA EXPO 2007 will close by 5:00 pm Thursday August 16, 2007.
"This year’s EXPO has been made affordable for all videographers to attend. Guest room rates will be only $104 per night at Bally’s, and just $139 per night at Paris. Hotel operators are accepting room reservations now at 877-603-4390. Be sure to mention WEVA EXPO 2007 to get the WEVA group rates," said Zale.
